The Kingdom of Morocco

Holidays to Morocco are as hypnotic as a snake charmer's flute. The place has a spellbinding quality that works its magic the moment you arrive: an Aladdin's cave full of hidden treasures and gems waiting to be found. We’re talking sands that glimmer like finely ground gold, sculptured dunes and deserts, snow-capped mountains and romantic Arabian nights. There are souks with the scent of spices, mint tea, thuya wood, carpets and leather, and shimmying belly dancers who whip past you in a flurry of colour. The sound of drums, laughter, and the aroma of a thousand and one Tajines linger throughout the star-studded night. It’s an enchanting corner of the world allright.

Morocco is just a step removed from Europe, across the narrow Strait of Gibraltar, but it is a world away in culture. This is due partly to its geographical position, sited at the crossroads where East meets West, Africa shakes hands with Europe, and the Mediterranean merges with the Atlantic. What a fascinating mixture of cultures and cuisine has resulted: African, Islamic, Berber and French!

The Marrakech-Essaouira region is one of the most beautiful coastal regions. Essaouira has undisputed charm and a laid back 60’s legacy, as very little appears to have changed over the last 50 years. Infamous Marrakech has a stunning skyline with the Atlas mountains as a backdrop, offering skiing, snowboarding and trekking. There is always an enchanting atmosphere, fun and fantasy in the “Big Square”. Marrakech is rich in history and steeped in mystery.

Only a stone's throw from Spain, the Tangier-Tetouan region on the Mediterranean coast offers wonderful exploration opportunities of the many bays, inlets and beaches, together with a wealth of watersports such as fishing, diving and sailing. At Chefchaouen, you'll find many native handicrafts not available elsewhere in Morocco, for example wool garments and woven blankets - and the goat's cheese native to this area is is superb.

The mountainous Agadir-Ouarzazate region is a natural wonder, with fabulous hiking and trekking, hot air ballooning, or relaxation in one of the many Spa resorts. The Sahara is within easy reach, offering driving, camel trekking, and breathtaking sunsets.There are also many top class luxury golf courses available in Agadir, with nightlife to suit every budget and taste.

Moroccans are liberal and tolerant, whilst their welcoming warmth and generosity forge everlasting friendships.

There is nowhere on earth quite like the Kingdom of Morocco.
